Can't go wrong with "Farewell to Winterland-1978"

and "Downhill from Here", a compilation of the 3 Alpine Valley, WI. shows they did in 1989, which were excellent.

"The Grateful Dead Movie" isn't bad either...features some fun animation at the start and fine concert footage from Winterland, SF in 1974. Film was released in 1975 and is available now on DVD w/all the bells and whistles extras.

Speaking of the Grateful Dead Movie (and its righteous animation), I'd like to throw a question out there:

What is the music in the very beginning of the animated sequence?

Specifically, right when the shot changes from the front cover of Mars Hotel to the back cover, a litte piano, synth, and drums riffage that lasts until the spaceman shoots the first pinball. Was this created specifically for the movie?

It's a very dope little riff and I'd love to hear an extended version.

Pretty sure the song is Eep Hour off of Jerry's first solo album.

Sweet. I kinda figured it'd be on one of the solo albums. I'll have to go check that out. Thanks.
